Pastor Edd Cathey

Pastor Edd Cathey was born in Duncan, Oklahoma. He graduated from Black Hawk College, Kewanee, Illinois with an Associate degree in 1976, and received a BA from Moody Bible Institute in 1980. In 1985 he earned his Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, Illinois. In May 2009 he earned the degree of Doctor of Ministry from Trinity School for Ministry, Ambridge, PA.

Ordained by the Sioux lands Presbytery, PCA, on June 23, 1985, he served as Pastor of First Presbyterian Church (PCA), in Hinckley, Minnesota from 1985 until 1988. That year, he and his family moved to Wilmington, Delaware, where he served as Associate Pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church (PCA). In 1995 he accepted a call to Emmanuel (OPC). In July of 2006 Rev. Cathey was installed as Evangelist and Organizing Pastor for Grace and Peace, a mission of the Mid-Atlantic Presbytery (OPC). He was called as pastor of Grace and Peace simultaneously with its founding as a particular congregation in February 2009.

Rev. Cathey is married to Jennifer. They celebrate 38 years of married life in 2019. They met while studying at Moody Bible Institute where she majored in Christian Education. Mrs. Cathey is very busy at home and also works as a Kindergarten Para-educator at Green Holly Elementary School. They have eight children with six married (eleven delightful grandchildren). Four of these have served in the United States Air Force with two still serving as reservists and two in active duty. One son still lives at home while attending The College of Southern Maryland.
